I really don't like visiting the dentist. I hate how inconvenient and expensive it is. I hate how invasive it feels, sitting there hoping this stranger prying open my mouth with tools doesn't hurt me. I hate the look of shame they give when they know I haven't kept my dental hygiene 100%. And I REALLY hate the anxiety the entire visit gives me, every single time.
If I didn't struggle with even half of those issues, believe me, I wouldn't be so hesitant visiting the dentist. Alas, I don't have an infinite bank account (or a way to prevent my crippling anxiety) so I've always suffered through it.
I thought that was the only way. Brush your teeth twice a day, use floss and the occasional mouthwash. Then visit the dental office twice a year waiting for them to scold you about how you aren't doing anything right, accept their invasive work and send you home with a $275 bill.
But everything changed in 2020.
